Kevin Contento's Berlinale 2023 nominated short film From Fish to Moon puts audiences in a small, remote American supermarket where they listen to everyday conversations of its employees and not least some poetry. Contento shot the film at an actual local grocery store in Pahokee, which he had always found to be visually captivating.

Upon revisiting the store a year later, he found that it had changed significantly, with new ownership and staff turnover. From Fish to Moon captured a unique moment in time just before this opportunity to preserve such beauty in the mundane would have been gone.

Kevin Contento is a Colombian-American filmmaker from Florida whose first feature film, The Conference of the Birds, had its premiere in Paris and went on to win the Narrative Features Jury Award at the 2021 New Orleans Film Festival.
